GHEDEX– Sultanate’s Premier Higher Education Exhibition is now an "UFI approved event"  and this builds on the event credentials, thus providing exhibitors and visitors alike with the assurance that they will benefit from a professionally planned and managed concept. An UFI approved event received global recognition among the professional organisers of exhibitions and the supporters, sponsors and exhibitors at the exhibition.

The organisers of GHEDEX – OITE, Oman International Trade & Exhibitions recently was awarded affiliation by UFI as UFI member, the association of the world's leading tradeshow organisers and fairground owners as well as the major national and international associations of the exhibition industry, and its partners.

GHEDEX 2006 is organised under the auspices of Ministry of Higher Education, Oman and is participated by the Ministry’s accredited universities and colleges.

GHEDEX 2006 is also supported by UNESCO – United National Educational and Scientific Organisation, confirming the events significant contribution towards development of higher education in the Sultanate of Oman.

The event is also supported by British Council, Oman assuring the commitment of British Universities Participation and the significant importance of the event to students and Universities alike.

GHEDEX is the largest specialised academic gathering of the Sultanate. GHEDEX will also be held for the first time in Salalah – South of Oman from 23 -24 April 2006 at Crown Plaza, Salalah.
