What are the benefits to speaking at our events?
The benefits to being a speaker at our events include:

What does OITE expect from speakers?
OITE expects our speakers to deliver quality presentations and topic, speakers should submit an abstract of their presentation, or suitable topics related to the conference agenda by the prescribed deadline. Speakers should have adequate visual accompaniment to the presentation and provide copies of PPT slides / handouts for distribution.
What do I need to provide aside from my presentation?
You need to arrange and send us the following requirements:
  • Full contact information, including a short biography (word or PDF Format)
  • Recent photograph (high resolution format)
  • Presentation abstract - Brief description of your presentation under the title in 100-150 words (word or PDF Format)
  • Description of the intended audience - Describe what section of audience would best benefit from your session in 30-50 words
Note: Presentation that is commercial or marketing in nature will not be included /approved
What is the submission deadline for presentations?
Four weeks before the event.
How is the event programme arranged?
The event programmes are arranged to encourage as much interaction between the speakers and the audience as possible. We encourage speakers to keep your slides short yet colorful, interesting and informative and allow enough time for questions at the end of your presentation.
What does OITE expect from speakers?
OITE tries to minimize changes in terms of the conference programme as much as possible, but sometimes it is unavoidable. However, in the event that the conference programme has changes and affects your talk time, the conference manager / coordinator will inform you immediately. Likewise, we also inform delegates and reproduce new copies of the agenda.
What is the conference room set-up?
Speakers are asked to speak at the stage of the conference hall. A microphone will be available on the podium, but if you prefer to walk around the stage during your presentation please kindly advice us in advance so we can provide you with a lapel microphone. For panelist speakers, you will be seated on a sofa or VIP Table on the stage throughout the session and hand-held microphones will be made available to you.
What is your arrangement for speakers travel and accommodation?
OITE will cover only your hotel accommodation and airline tickets limited to 2-way economy class. You can also book your own flight, however it will be subject to OITE’s final approval on price. Your hotel accommodation will be covered based on the organizer hotel preferences. OITE is not liable to any other incidental cost / charges occurred during your stay.
When should I arrive at the event?
Speakers are requested to arrive at the venue at least an hour before the event starts. This allows you to meet other speakers and run through your final slides and other requirements with our stage technician. OITE also encourage speakers to stay and attend as much of the conference as possible as some delegates who have seen your name would want to meet you.
What should I do if I will be delayed on arrival?
If for any reason should you be delayed and are not able to arrive at the conference at the allocated time, we advise to please call any of the OITE contact persons as the earliest.
What does OITE expect from speakers?
Speakers can register at the registration desk at the conference hall and collect your speaker badge and speakers’ kit. When you arrive please advice / tell the registration staff that you are one of the speakers and they will direct you to the speakers waiting area.
What is the dress code?
For all OITE events, the dress code is mostly formal business attire or smart business attire. Dress code is not strictly being implemented it is up for the individual to decide.
What is the Audio / Video set-up?
OITE requires all speakers to send their final presentation on the set deadline as it will be pre-loaded in advance on the event website and on the laptop set on the podium. Speakers will have full control of the presentation linked to a multimedia projector.
When will I meet the Conference chairman, Moderator and Panel members?
The conference chairman will be provided with the chairman's kit before the event, which contains the script, notes, and biographies of each speaker. OITE conference manager will introduce the speakers to the conference chairman before the event starts. For the panelist and moderators we encourage them to meet at least an hour to discuss final points before their session.
When can I check and run through my final presentation?
We encourage speakers to arrive early at the venue, at least an hour in advance. You will be given the opportunity to run through your slides.
Do my guests receive a complimentary or special discount on the conference price?
As a speaker you are entitled to invite 1 (one) colleague to attend for free. Free pass will be given upon registration. In excess special discount will be given by the organizer. Please send your guest full details so we can arrange their pre-registration pass.
What if I need to cancel my commitment to speak?
If for any reason you have to cancel your commitment to speak, we kindly request that you provide a replacement speaker who can also speak on the same topic.
I would like to propose a sponsored session. What are the criteria?
OITE events offer speaking opportunities for professionals to share their ideas, knowledge and experiences in the industry. However, presentations that are commercial or marketing in nature will not be considered. Presentation content should be relevant and appropriate on the topic allocated by the organizers, while topics proposed by the sponsor/vendor are subject to evaluation by the committee. OITE reserves the right to exercise its editorial discretion.
