The Sultanate has made tremendous strides in the IT, Telecom & Technology sector. The government is also implementing a national strategy to transform the Omani economy from a traditional to a knowledge-based economy and has launched a “National Gateway” for secure online payments and other electronic payment instruments. The country has also introduced an e-tendering system which fully automates the tendering and companies registration processes. Several initiatives are underway to ensure the sustainable development of the IT sector.
