Oman’s outbound tourism market is growing at an unprecedented & continuous pace, boosted by the recent growth in the country’s economy. The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has ranked Oman’s tourism economy among the fastest growing in the world. According to WTTC, Oman’s travel & tourism industry is all set for an annual real growth rate of 5% over the next 10 years.

WTTC has identified the Sultanate as a country with great tourism potential, pointing out that OR2.49 billion, around 7.1 percent of the DGP, will be pumped into the travel and tourism industry during the 2009-2018 period. With the expected increase in the number of visitors (at least 5% annually) during this period, the Sultanate will create about 104,000 job opportunities. The travel industry will grow by 13.8% and the expenditure is expected to hit RO 54.7 million annually.
