VISA
There are two ways to apply for a visa:
1. Applying for a visa through OITE
The following are required at least 3 weeks before the exhibition:
The passport should be valid for at least the next 6 months from the date of application.
Applicant's mothers name should be mentioned in the visa application.
Visas are issued at the discretion of the Director General of Immigration, Royal Oman Police. OITE accepts no responsibility for procuring visas or type of visa requested, on time.
2. Exhibitors working on executive/managerial level and having a valid UAE residence visa can obtain a visa on arrival at the border, by road.

- Relevant Pages of passport copy
- Visa copy with last exit stamp if the individual has visited Oman earlier; and
- 4 colour passport size photographs

Hotel rates vary from time to time. OITE negotiates special hotel rates and packages for all exhibitors. Should you wish to obtain of special rates, please contact:

Local Transport
Worry-Free Travel! Muscat is a good choice for long distance travel.
Oman National Transport Company has a network of services. Taxis, or cabs and shared taxis are available for travel within the city.
All major hotels offer luxury coach services. You may hire rental cars at Rent-a-Car companies which have offices at hotels throughout the country.
Remember, in Oman we drive on the right hand side of the road and wearing seat belts is a must. Speed limits are posted in km/h as the standard. Residents in the country are required a valid Omani license while visitors can use an international license. If you are hiring rental cars, please ensure that the vehicle you are renting is adequately insured against loss or damage. Please be aware that rules are enforced and violators will be penalized. There are strict penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on beaches is prohibited.

Language
Arabic is the official language of the Sultanate of Oman. However English is most commonly used in business. Asian languages like Hindi, Urdu and Baluchi are also widely spoken. Swahili is also spoken by some, a legacy of Oman´s former East African presence.
Currency
Omani Rial is the basic unit of currency in Oman. (0.38 rial equals U.S. $1; fixed rate). It is divided into 1000 baiza. Notes are in denominations of RO 50, 20, 10, 5, 1 and .500 and .100 baiza. Coins are in denominations of 100, 50, 25, 10 and 5 baiza. Cash card machines are readily available at banks and shopping centres. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, larger shops and restaurants. Cash will be needed in small shops.
